Humantay Lake sits at 13,779 ft (4,200 m) and Rainbow Mountain peaks at over 16,500 ft (5,000 m). Because you have been in the Andes for 5 days prior, your body will be perfectly acclimatized, significantly reducing the risk of altitude sickness. However, these hikes remain physically demanding. We carry emergency oxygen, but we still advise discussing altitude medication with your doctor before traveling.

Microclimates & Technical Packing: You will cross multiple climate zones. Machu Picchu is a warm, humid cloud forest, while the summit of Rainbow Mountain features freezing winds. Layering is mandatory.
